HPLC Testing for Bacteriostatic Water — How We Verify Every Lot
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is the analytical gold standard for pharmaceutical purity testing. Renew Lab Group runs HPLC analysis on every production lot of bacteriostatic water to verify benzyl alcohol concentration, detect degradation products, and confirm the absence of unexpected impurities.
What HPLC Tests in Our BAC Water
Our HPLC protocol measures three things on every lot: (1) Benzyl alcohol concentration — must be 0.9% ± 0.05% per USP specification. (2) Benzaldehyde and benzoic acid — degradation products of benzyl alcohol that indicate product age or improper storage. (3) Any unknown peaks — unexpected compounds that would indicate contamination or a formulation error.
How to Read the HPLC Section on Your COA
On your Certificate of Analysis, the HPLC section shows the test name (“Benzyl Alcohol Assay”), the specification range (“0.85%–0.95%”), and the actual measured result for your specific lot (e.g., “0.91% — Conforms”). The actual result is what matters — not just a pass/fail checkbox. If a supplier only shows “Pass” without a measured value, that is a red flag.
Why HPLC Matters for Peptide Research
When reconstituting research peptides like Semaglutide, BPC-157, or HGH with bacteriostatic water, the benzyl alcohol concentration affects both the antimicrobial protection and the compatibility of the solution. Too low: inadequate microbial inhibition. Too high: potential peptide degradation over time. HPLC-verified 0.9% is the research-validated sweet spot.
Our HPLC Equipment and Protocol
We use validated HPLC equipment calibrated with USP reference standards. Each test run includes system suitability verification, reference standard injections, and sample analysis with duplicate injections. Results are reviewed by our quality team before any lot is approved for release.
How This Relates to Your Order
When you order from Renew Lab Group, every one of these quality steps has already been completed on your lot before it ships. Your Certificate of Analysis documents the specific results — not generic “complies” statements, but actual measured values from the batch you receive.
Quality You Can Verify. Documentation You Can Trust.
HPLC-tested. Endotoxin-controlled. COA included with every order.
